Trevin “explains” federation

Our favorite Windows Live ID guy, Trevin, posts on federation, a procedure where one set of credentials (read: username/password) on a "forest" is trusted by another "forest", without having to create a second set of credentials. What this means to you and me is less of a need to keep lots of username/password combinations straight, while still maintaining security. Now Trevin seems to be trying hard not to get too specific here, but it's a good guess that he's hinting at things to come for Live ID. When they will come about, or what exactly he's hinting at, remains to be seen, but we just want to encourage this kind of blogging. Sure it's over our head, and no we don't know exactly what he's talking about, but if Martha Stewart likes it, so do we. Keep it up, Trevin!
