Windows Live Product Search & Upload gets update

Whilst unlikely to attract quite the same attention and controversy as the Windows Live Shopping switch to MSN, the marketplace team announced on their blog an update to two of their other products: Windows Live Product Search and its counterpart Product Upload. Changes include performance updates, UI improvements and the always-present bug fixes.

While Brandon says he loves what they are doing, I’m going to point out that they still have no localised support, even for other english-speaking countries. For a service that’s been out for a while, its disappointing to see this is still the case.

This just gets more and more confusing, why are they using the Windows Live name on new products to do with shopping when they are using the old MSN name for the homepage of the shopping site?

What was the point of even naming it with the Live brand, when it’s just going to be another MSN Offering!

Just to correct some of the comments -

Produt search will NOT be a MSN offering. MSN Shopping is rather different from Product Search; while similar, they solve different problems.

    Anyway -

I find it tremendously amusing that if you go to product.live.com you get the new UI; but if you click do a Live Web search, and then switch to the Product engine (under More) if still uses the old UI.

    Oh, yeah, that’s impressive.
