Windows Live OneCare 1.6 out? Not just yet.

Some sites are reporting that Windows Live OneCare 1.6 is now available for download. Unfortunately if you go to onecare.live.com you’ll see that this is not the case, and the installer is still OneCare 1.5. That’s not to say an update isn’t coming soon…

While we’re talking about OneCare, a few people have emailed us asking about the status of the OneCare 2.0 beta. Although signups have been open since the beginning of March, the beta program has not started yet. We’ll keep you updated on any news we hear.

After I saw the reports I checked by version at home and it is indeed of the 1.6 variety but them I’m on the perpetual beta so this has presumably updated itself recently. I would imagine that it will be available shortly.

Anyway, those using the retail version should be updating to 1.6 fairly soon – it’s been released.
And for those panicking about not being updated – just wait, it’ll do so eventually!
