By Kip Kniskern | In Featured, News | Posted September 5, 2007 26 comments

The Windows Live Wire blog this morning published an entry from Chris Jones, Vice President, Windows Live Team, announcing the Windows Live suite.

Included in the suite, which will allow for a single installation of any or all of these Windows Live services, are:

  • Windows Live Mail (the desktop client)
  • Windows Live Photo Gallery
  • Windows Live Writer
  • Windows Live OneCare Family Safety
  • Windows Live Messenger (8.5)
  • and more (??)

While the url has not updated for me at the moment, it’s expected to be working today according to Jones, rolling out depending on where you live:

Update: The installer is now live. Go to the above link to get started. Expect more to come on here soon.

I’ve read on a Dutch website called Webwereld (Webworld in English). Webwereld had interviewed Microsoft Benelux and they’ve said the Windows Live Suite will be released tonight!!

I wonder if new versions of these clients will be included or if it will be just the same betas already out in one package.

  • Mark

i very much doubt that the applications will be out of beta, as we would of had a warning or updates on their spaces saying about cming out of beta soon and with windows live photo gallery not even in a public beta yet i am pretty sure that this will just be another milestone on the betas

No, Microsoft Benelux have said that all the applications are in beta.

I don’t know of there are new versions of the applications are? I hope that Windows Live Messenger is updated. :-)

  • Mark

well i have tried looking all around for the photo gallery beta and its not in a public beta so they are not all in beta as some are internal

I Jus’HOPE They Do SOMETHING About The “SPEED” (Poor Performance)!!!

BTW – We Jus’Had An EARTHQUAKE Here That, I Felt:

“A minor earthquake occurred at 9:11:18 AM (HST) on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 .
The magnitude 3.0 event occurred 17 km (10 miles) NNW of Na`alehu.
The hypocentral depth is 6 km ( 4 miles).”

I Gotta Go Fill-Out The “Felt Earthquake” Report!

Yes all the programs will still be in beta and yes there will be some new ones added (and maybe some beta refreshes if we are lucky :P).

As for the new beta programs maybe an offline Windows Live Calendar thing or an updated version of FolderShare, or something completely different?

  • kcorax

Freaking god, it’s localized for Greek. That’s bizzare usually things take 6months to a year to get localized for us.

  • DN2004

I wonder if it is localised for the UK

  • rhann

they seem to be out of beta, messenger has no beta tags and neither does writer

  • mrx9898

I’m installing right now. It’s a bit annoying though because I only selected to install WL Photo Gallery, but it’s installing everything else too.

bah, it sucks them leaving us 64 bit’ers outa the picture on this one

  • mrx9898

Photo Gallery sucks. It’s not that I don’t like it, but it has to have Windows Desktop Search installed, and that REALLY slows down my computer :(.
