Looks like nothing can stay quiet for long – a new installer featuring the final Windows Live Wave 2 programs is available for download thanks to Microsoft’s early preparations. While not much has changed in the applications themselves since the last beta releases, its just nice to be running the final versions.

You can grab the new Windows Live installer here:

Messenger is now 8.5.1302.1018 and Mail is now at 12.0.1606 . If you have any problems installing/upgrading from the betas, the following support article should help.

Update: As pointed out by Dwergs, this now supports x64 systems.

Had to shoot off early so feel free to drop the non-english installer links in here and I’ll add them up later. Thanks!

    Woohoo! I think…

Chris, I gathered 30+ non-English installers over at Be my guest.

And you might want to add that the new installer feels at home on Windows Vista 64-bit.

Well that was bloody weird. I just spent the last 2hours trying to get the new programs to install. Tried *everything*, nothing going.

I have got it all installed now, but had to reset my router :S, so if anyone else has any problems, try reseting your connection.

The bad thing about this is they got rid of the option of installing shortcuts. At least I didn’t see any options mentioning if I wanted to install or not.

Besides that, everything went smoothly. Thanks for the update!

I think the link seems to have been taken down now. On two diffeent computers, with two different internet connections I’ve tried the link from here and and it just says “Problem Loading Page” (or “Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage” in IE).

Does anybody know the reason for this? Have Microsoft taken them down, untill tomorrow (or midnight tonight, should I say? lol)

  • ScottIsAFool

I have just tried it now calum and it worked fine here.

  • CalumJR

Oh, ok Scott, thank you. I will keep trying then :P

Live Mail desktop no longer works with my email address. I have an older version on another computer that works fine. All I get is an unknown error.

It does however work with the Outlook connector

For german readers, here is the Link to the German Version…

Für deutsche User: im Download Link das en durch de ersetzen:

Every time I try to use Windows Live mail, it keeps disconnecting my internet connection.

Could someone put all the final installer exes/msi’s on skydrive or something and send me the links please?

The installer doesn’t work right for me, and never has on my college computer. :(

  • AndyD

Nevermind. I found them on a skydrive folder that I got them from before when the whole WLInstaller.exe mess began for me.
