Windows Live Hotmail backend update released

While the Windows Live Hotmail team is working on interesting new features they dropped another build on their servers that mostly covers backend stuff. The only change you will notice is the new WL Header with the MSN link that has found its way to most other Windows Live properties… For the flashy stuff like full POP support, or an improved classic mode we have to wait a little longer.

Oh, and before you try: This does not work with IE8 standards mode yet

    IMAP Support PLEASEEEEEEE!

They could have atleast put the meta in for IE8.

They should work on integrating chat to WLHotmail, same thing as Yahoo and Gmail has been doing over the past months.

    This wood nice two have.
End-to-end encryption for email and files.
2048 bit encryption with full OpenPGP support.

So when are MSN Premium users going to get some Windows Live love?

  • Chris

Was that a rhetorical question Alber1690? We’ve asked a whole bunch of different people about Premium but have never heard anything back. Seems like its a black hole…

@Alber1690: Drop MSN Premium for good, and maybe if a lot of other people drop, they might actually do something to fix that. I still don’t see what’s special about MSN Premium that WinLive has already made free for users, and other free alternatives have.

    Or just get Hotmail Plus.

Really, why are you still sticking to that monthly fee for nothing?

Does anyone know whether it’s this new build that’s causing all the grief with blank replies and forwards, misconfigured compose windows and (apparently) a new wave of log-in problems?
