Olympics background now on Live Search homepage

With the amazing 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremony just finished, Live Search has updated their first background image on the homepage for the Olympics, as reported yesterday. Now available at Live Search’s Chinese market, here’s what it looks like, featuring the Bird’s Nest Olympic Stadium:

That blue sky definitely isn’t Photoshopped. Nope, not one bit ;).

    Pretty though.

Yes it is indeed nice. I’d like to have it as my desktop background. Anyone know if this is available for a desktop background?

I like these images!… It’s something fresh in contrast to Google’s Doodles. Do you guys now something about when those images are available on every Live Search site, and not only US and CN?

But somehow I thought the Bird’s Nest Picture on Chinese Search site was not as good as earlier pictures put on Search Home Page (US region)
Btw , now even the US region Live Search page shows Olympics related picture. Just updated my blog.

It looks kinda fake to me. Isn’t the Olympic Green very close to other buildings of Beijing? This image makes it look as if it’s the only building around for miles.

It would have been really cool if they could have made a special Olympic splash page for each international market Live.com is available in, and post up the nation’s Olympic team, with updated pictures of the nation’s athletes at the events. Just a nice touch.
