Welcome to LiveSide v.4

We told you about our server issues a month or so ago, and ever since then we’ve been working behind the scenes to make a move over to our brand new server.  You can see all the specs in the new about page, in LiveSide Central.  We still have a few issues to work out, and will be making some changes as we go, but welcome to our new site!  We’ll have more about our new site and some other new changes soon, so stay tuned.

Notes: We are redirecting traffic to our new IP address while the dns servers around the world catch up (that usually takes 48 hours or less).  In the meantime, a couple of things won’t appear to work, probably most noticably Live ID authentication (which is set to go to LiveSide.net and not the IP address), and the translator.  This should all “resolve” itself in the next few hours or so, thanks for your patience.  In the meantime, you can still sign in to LiveSide the old fashioned way.

I like the new look. I was a little surprised at first when I was redirected to the IP Address. :)

Great job on the site. I like it! It seems to be a bit slow loading though. Although that could be my computer.

Good style. But has a error. In the contrys flags, has the Portugal flag, but officially Live Translator traslate to Brazilian Portuguese, so the correct flag is the brazilian, not the portuguese.

The background should be a warm color instead of unforgiving white. Other then that… its nice.

    Really like the new site!

Don’t really care for all the white space, but still, the new site is great!

The domain is pointing to http://www.liveside.net instead of the IP address too, now.

    :)

Very nice job guys! Everything is aligned and tidy. Windows Live ID sign in seems to be working fine now too.

Live ID is now using CSLive 1.0 instead of my custom module. CSLive 2.0 will expand more on LiveID, making it more like the open id feature.

The slow loading times are usually down to the add to any controls

Great work on v4 guys! I have to agree with yertthedestroyer that you should have a warm color as the background instead of white…

This is better than the old design.

However, It seems a little inconsistent. Some elements have rounded corners, some square. The featured article title has a plain background where everything else features a gradient. Just little things like that.

    A nice improvement though.

Ok how do you like the yellowish background?

the sidebar has rounded boxes, everything else is square, using the Live Search Box style. It was only initially meant to be used on the featured article box and the search box, but it’s being used a bit more now.

yeah IE7, much better whats with the orange?

  • http://www.liveside.net/members/Nick/default.aspx Nick

What orange now? The background color, some people wanted something other than white.
