Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Is Out

The IE team blog has just posted that IE8b2 is now out. Lots of goodness in this new build:

We focused our work around three themes: everyday browsing (the things that real people do all the time), safety (the term most people use for what we’ve called ‘trustworthy’ in previous posts), and the platform (the focus of Beta 1, how developers around the world will build the next billion web pages and the next waves of great services).

Check out the IE team blog post as they go into so much more detail about what’s new.

I love the idea of grouping tabs so u can keep up with where a list of tabs came from

Is there a way to install IE8 alongside of IE7?

BTW I suggest using a loading icon from ajaxload.info to supplement the loading promt after submiting a comment.

@ Ryan: Technically that isn’t meant to popup, it’s just ASP.net AJAX seems to like doing that, I will add a loading image tho :-)

    The pros:-
    - Tab grouping.
    - Compatibility mode whitelisting (better than having to run IE7 mode all the time).
    - search suggestions.
    - and of course the inprivate browsing.

    Cons:-
    - Inprivate browsing spawns a new window, would have preferred that it spawned a new tab (after all, IE8 is now multithreaded right).
    - switching search engines while a keyword is still inside the search box will cause IE to automatically search the keyword in the newly selected search engine.
