Twitter intrigue: Kumo “only the test name”: Live Search

Adding to the intrigue of what to call the falling further and further behind Microsoft search product, the Live Search team posted this tonight:

We knew this already. They blogged about it themselves saying that it’s just an internal name.

It’s interesting that they would go to the effort of designing creative for an internal brand. Someone got paid $500 for that.

Additionally how does Apple run such a tight ship with no secrets getting out, while MS employees tweet/blog about everything they see (ie: kumo appearing as their search engine).

Good! It should stay Live Search and not change to Kumo. We need to keep moving forward with Windows Live.

Yes, JSYOUNG571, we do need to keep moving forward with Windows Live, but Live Search is not a Windows Live product.

I think a rebrand is much needed, I just don’t know what sort of name. I love the Kumo interface from what I have seen.
