The one where we messed up on Twitter accounts for Live Search

The other day we posted a “tweet” from “livesearch”, on Kumo being “only a test name”.  We posted on it after seeing it retweeted numerous times, including by a number of people we know to work at Microsoft (but that’s no excuse).  We even linked to the list of official Live Search Twitter accounts.  Turns out we should have checked that list more carefully.

“livesearch” isn’t the official Twitter account for Live Search, “Live_Search” is.

While we still think there’s a bunch of shenanigans surrounding the Kumo name, we attributed a “tweet” to the Live Search team, when it wasn’t theirs.  For that we apologize.  We’ve been impressed with Twitter, we think it is a great tool, but we need to be more careful about checking our facts, and double checking the origins of the Twitter accounts we follow.  In the meantime, anyone want to fess up as to who runs the “livesearch” account?

Yes kip, because of the same point about kumo, I got it confirmed about Live searches’ official Twitter account yesterday. The other one @livesearch might be … might be someone from the Live search Team. I’m not sure .

Kudos to you guys for admitting your mistake. Its not always easy to admit you’re wrong, but I apprecitate the openess of Liveside, which is why I’ve come to enjoy this site so much.
