New Windows Live Mobile client available

Just out this week is a new client for Windows Live Mobile, and an official announcement about Hotmail for Mobile (which we told you about last month).  The new Windows Live Mobile client’s most significant change is that it now includes Windows Live Messenger, which had been removed from the last version.

msgrmob

You can get the new version by going to the web page and having a text sent to your mobile device:

wlmobile

or going straight to the mobile download link:

wlmobiledl

As we told you last month, you can also get straight to your Hotmail account, from any web enabled phone, at www.m.mail.live.com

    Eh, there is no support for signing in from multiple places at the same time in this version of mobile Messenger …

    and still no sync with Live Calendar. *sigh*

    Agree with Hb8 on the Live Calendar….What is really going on?………And you know I am going to say this again as I always do….we are still waiting on web messenger for Hotmail. That is my new signature on every post now.

    Where is the iphone/ipod touch client?

    @Khristopher: given the lack of Windows Live Calendar sync, that’s about as likely as a version of Office for the iPhone. Still, I can’t say I’m complaining about that; the sooner that grossly inferior “smartphone” dies, the better.

    Totally failtastic.

    No fix for the “Problem with the server” issue you can find mentioned all over the web if you search ‘”problem with the server” messenger’.

    Alas, also no calendar.

    Said “problem with server” issue above is why I’m using My Phone instead of WL for syncing my contacts right now.

    And yes, I’m still alive, just :)

    no calendar sync on windows live :@
    no downloadable attachment on mobile hotmail web version
    when will have a full integration sync mobile/desktop/live

    I agree with the comments.

    But my number one niggle with this app is the TINY green left and right arrows to switch from Hotmail >> Messenger >> Sync.

    It’s intollerable on my Touch HD. Even using a stylus requires extreme precision to hit the green arrows correctly.

    @Chris -
    I wondered where you’d gone! I hope you are able to start writing articles again soon as I miss your articles :)

    But guys….on a positive side, the Messenger client is back…that is good enough for me at this stage :-)

    @reportered:

    That’s great *if* you are able to log in. An issue has been preventing many from signing into messenger at all. Microsoft customer services eventually acknowledged the problem but “could not provide a timeframe for a resolution”. It’s been several month since I was able to use Messenger on my device.
