Just out is the official Facebook for Windows Mobile app, available for installation on Windows Mobile 6 phones.  Features include:

  • Send messages to any of the people in your Friends list.

  • Take pictures and videos on your phone, then upload them right to Facebook.

  • Send messages or call people in your Friends list.

  • Manage your profile and post anytime, anywhere.

Nice implementation, but you sort of have to wonder why the Windows Live client isn’t nearly as nice as this. Surely, something similar with Windows Live, messenger, photos, profile, what’s new, etc should have been released by now?

Wow, this is a pretty cool app. I’m not a loyal Facebook user, I much prefer my Windows Live, but this is nice. Even the ease of uploading a photo or even a **video** to Facebook!

I agree with Alimaggs, though. Windows Live for Windows Mobile can use a huge upgrade. Though I prefer having my email and contact integrated with my phone as is, I’d like to see Windows Live for Windows Mobile pull the other Live properties into a mobile application like this. Photo Gallery, Spaces, SkyDrive, hell…even Video Messages would be cool to integrate into a new mobile app. However, we don’t even have Calendar sync yet, so I won’t even dare to dream of having a truly integrated “Life Without Walls” existence of my Windows Live services being wherever and whenever I need it.
