Adding Photos To Hotmail Messages Possible Again

Back in August, the Hotmail team temporarily removed adding photos to the body of Windows Live Hotmail messages due to a security issue in the upload tool. They have been building an updated version of the tool and now you can add Photos again! Yes, that’s right, the Tool is back!

Instead of adding pictures as attachments to your Hotmail messages by clicking Attach and then File and then selecting the pictures you would like to include, Hotmail brings you a tool so you can more efficiently select and add multiple photos to a Hotmail message in Internet Explorer in a couple clicks: select Attach and then Photo.

    Sunshine, it’s real right now.

This is great. However, it would be nice if they can add the preview of a documet (word doc for example) feature as well, the same way we can do in Outlook. I am hopeful that in the future they will add that feature(crosses fingers)…

It still sucks because the photos remain at the bottom of the email. I would like to write a paragraph at the top then place the photo next and another paragraph below for example.
You can’t do that which is very limiting in producing a good email with pictures.

Though I love this feature, I’m an avid Firefox user, so I typically can’t take advantage of ActiveX features like this.

I’m holding out hope that the Quick Add feature will be used to add photos from Skydrive, and embed them in the email. You can embed images from bing, and resize them and everything, so it seems like they’d just have to figure out a way to link the Quick Add to your Skydrive to make that work… “just” :)

    That’s my ideal world, though…

I agree with the others. If Windows Live Hotmail could improve the way it embeds/displays media and docs within e-mails, that’d be swell.

Not sure, but I think Yahoo! Mail already has such features, where you can preview docs and media.

I also like jntowers idea of being able to embed stuff from your SkyDrive (though a web link would be more efficient and take less space).
