A Bing URL shortener?

LiveSide reader Gilly2468 noticed an interesting tidbit in a Bing tweet from Fareologist this week, a Binged.IT url shortener:

bingurl

Gilly has more on his (very nice looking, btw!) My Microsoft Life blog.  URL shorteners are becoming quite popular as a way to continue the brand into links on Twitter, etc.  No word as to whether we’ll see Binged.it go public, but good catch, Gilly!

Hey, you guys hearing any more social networking/gaming like features coming to windows live? I saw this in a job description.

“We are building a transformative social experiences that span social connectivity, ubiquitous data, rich media experiences and harness the capabilities of new sensors and devices.”

As URL shortners go its not a very good one as binged.it is 9 characters and bing.com is 8… they should go for bi.ng as its probably just as good.

It looks like its using bit.ly pro

    http://www.binged.it redirects to http://bit.ly
