Windows Live Essentials Wave 3 gets an update

LiveSide contributor damaster just tipped us to a QFE update to Windows Live Essentials, which will upgrade Essentials from the current build (14.0.8089.726) up to 14.0.8117.416:

The new update doesn’t appear to be at Windows Update (yet), but you can get the latest build by running the Windows Live Essentials installer (we have an easy to get to link here on LiveSide, or you can go to downloads.live.com). We just installed and are poking around, but let us know if you notice any new features or changes.

I do notice something with my smileys, friend has smileys in his msn name.. And every other chat message the smileys are in a different style.

It seems that this new build forces the launch of video calls when you want to display the contact webcam (WLM 2010 Milestone 2 do the same thing).

    They’ve totally removed the ability for just one person to show their cam. Now, the only option for webcam is “Video Call”

the I’m icon disappeared from my profile name. I was supporting previously the naf campaign, even if I’m not in the US

Yeah same here, the I’m icon is gone from every contact in my list now i only see *help or anything that was I’m. :(

I noticed that the I’m Making a Difference signature in writing e-mails has disappeared as well. Looks like the program ended in March.

I guess this release is primarily a preparation for the upcoming live wave 4 services cause wave 3 essentials needs to work with the upcoming services, or doesn’t?
