Windows Live Wave 4 web services to be released June 3?

Earlier this month, Microsoft France’s student website accidentally spilled the news that Windows Live Essentials Wave 4 will be available on June 21. Later on, an email from Live@edu gave us hints that Windows Live Wave 4 web services (like Profile, Groups, SkyDrive, Photos, Office…etc.) will start rolling out in early June. This time, a post on Windows Live Solution Centre by an official Microsoft support staff (Etienne L) confirmed that Windows Live Wave 4 web services will be released on June 3. Here’s what was posted:

The original in French:

Nous venons d’avoir des informations quant à ce problème et cela est sans doute dû au fait qu’une nouvelle version de Windows Live Skydrive et Windows Live Photos est en préparation et sortira le 3 Juin. Les produits du réseau social Windows Live sont liés entre eux et pendant que nos ingénieurs travaillent sur cette nouvelle version, cette fonctionnalité est hors-service.

Translated by Bing Translator:

We have just had information about this problem and this is probably due to the fact that a new version of Windows Live SkyDrive and Windows Live Photo is under preparation and will be released June 3. The social network Windows Live products are interrelated and while our engineers are working on this new version, this feature is down.

Microsoft previously confirmed that the final version of Office Web Apps on Windows Live will be available to the public starting June 15. If the above information is true, that means we’ll be able to start using the Wave 4 web services in less than a week! This can only be good news!

Does this means Messenger Connect services will be released too??? :D

I think the Office Web Apps are pretty ready now, except for possibly One Note. While the SkyDrive doesn’t support editing Word documents, the Docs application on Facebook allows editing for Word documents. They should have at least added it to Web Apps for those who don’t use it on Facebook.

I assume this includes Hotmail as well? Or is Hotmail a special service? Why is it taking them forever to roll out Hotmail Wave 4?

    • Damaster – LiveSide.net

As explained earlier, Hotmail will usually take longer to roll out because of its architecture and user base. I’m assuming they’ll “start” rolling out Hotmail on this date, but it may take several weeks or months for them to be “fully” rolled out to everyone. But that’s just my guess…

I’m actually hoping the Wave 4 essentials beta is released June 7th like the roadmap states. Since I really can’t wait to try it

End of the week we might get the web services and often i get it quite early when it comes to be released. Not expecting Hotmail as soon as it do take a while more usually for me.
