At the Worldwide Developer’s Conference in Washington DC, Microsoft announced that there will indeed be a PDC (Professional Developer’s Conference) this year, and that for the first time ever, it will be held on Microsoft’s campuses in Redmond, WA, USA:
It was unclear whether there would be a PDC this year, as Windows 7, Office 2010, and Visual Studio 2010 have already shipped, but Microsoft promises lots of announcements, according to the PDC10 website:
Since 1991, the PDC has been the epicenter of Microsoft’s biggest platform announcements. This year will be no exception. Leading-edge developers and architects will gather in Redmond this October to hear firsthand from Microsoft’s leaders about the next generation of Cloud Services, Phone, Tools & Technologies, Internet Explorer and Gaming Platforms.
Of course we’ll be there (hey it’s only 30 miles away!!), but this year’s PDC will include live streaming of sessions and keynotes, so if you can’t make it you’ll be able to follow along at home.
