Mall Maps, Map Search come to Bing for Mobile

If you use an HTML5 enabled mobile browser (iPhone, Android, RIM), today marks the first time you can get mall maps and map search from m.bing.com, according to a Bing Search blog post. The features have been available for Bing on the desktop for some time now, but now you can find your favorite store in the mall, or search for places on a map:

No sightings yet for Bing on Mango (we don’t find it working even via m.bing.com on Mango 7712), but hopefully it will be included in the RTM version.

Weird that it’s not showing up in Mango’s IE9, but at least it’s built into Mango’s maps app. MS does some strange stuff.

It doesnt need to be in Mango browser because it’s already available in the Maps app. Indeed, the reason why it’s on the other folks’ phones’ browsers is because they don’t have a Bing Maps app. DUH!

    iono, I got off Mango because I wanted to sync with my 4.7 music collection, but it’s been documented quite extensively: http://www.bing.com/search?q=bing+indoor+maps+mango&qs=n&sk=&form=QBRE

    By the way, anyone noticed that
    the URL of Bing’s blog psots includes mention of airport maps but then never
    mentions them in the article? Did something get pulled at the last
    minute I wonder?

      Funny, could not get mall maps on any of the local (to Seattle) malls I tried when posting, but today it seems to be working fine – not sure what that was all about. Anyway mall maps IS working on Mango 7712 (the Levels UI is very nice!).

Bing inside maps were available on Mango beta two. I have not look for it in Mango beta 2 refresh so not sure if they took it out for that build or not. But it was avail for the Mall of America in beta two.

A bit OT as it’s about the actual Bing homepage – I just noticed that they’ve removed the little info highlights/overlays that you can mouse-over to see & click for searches relating to the background image.

Amazing!! you can see a mall maps? Do it use a program same with GPS? HTML5 is really advance. I don’t think the technology and knowledge would ever have an end.
