Windows Live Essentials Updated!

By Sunshine | Posted March 21, 2012 17 comments

Microsoft has released an update for Windows Live Essentials:

Today, we released an update for Windows Live Essentials 2011 in all 48 languages. This minor release includes numerous updates across all of the programs in the Essential package, including Windows Live Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Family Safety, Writer, and Mesh. In the coming weeks, customers on Windows Vista SP2 and Windows 7 will receive a notification prompting them to upgrade to the new version. Since this release contains critical fixes for the Essentials package, in a few months, the update will become required for all eligible customers.

Nothing about what the changes are in their blog post, but I’m sure upgrading is a wise thing to do. The build number after updating is 15.4.3555.0308.

You can download the update now at the Windows Live Essentials website.

I bet they are proactively making internal changes to be compatible with a future Windows or web site release.

I read a post on MSDN that indicated it was all under the hood updates for issues that had been identified.

Windows Live is a very poorly built program I find. I only use it for Messenger.

It’s a late reaction: but anyone else having problems lately with Facebook chat on WLM, that it tries to sign-in but can’t connect (FB chat), was working fine before, now it’s blegh.
