Microsoft.com website gets a new design

Microsoft LogoMicrosoft had been giving all of its properties a fresh new look recently. From Windows Phone to Windows 8, from Bing to Xbox 360, and from Hotmail to SkyDrive, Microsoft had been incorporating its Metro style design into everything they have. Thanks to a tip from LiveSide reader Jonathon B, who managed to find a link to a newly redesigned Microsoft.com homepage, currently still in preview mode. Check it out in the screenshot below:

Microsoft Website

We think this new design is much elegant and less cluttered than the current Microsoft.com homepage. You can check out this new design over at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/preview. And let us know what you think in the comments below!

Much better than the previous Metro website. I love it! Keep it up, Microsoft.

EDIT: “Windows” part of the website got redesigned, too.

    It looks touch-friendly – important for a company making a touch-push!

They can’t just change it yet… Same for Windows 8 logo – there’s not even a glimpse on their website. I’m sure they will get everything ready by fall/October.

Now they need to use this style on all of their websites. Because one single click brings you to 100 different MS websites. Most of them are designed like they are from the 90’s.

  • Metro

looks much better but I think they still can even make this better and more like those cool designs they had on Office promo video in future.

Metro is very beautiful but also very important to design it right and use right colors and places to put elements of website there.

If you do it right it is beautiful and if you don’t it will be mess.

This is much better than what they have but I expect more stylish metro for Microsoft websites and also they have to make the whole site Metro even all help pages and etc from years ago.

Everything in Microsoft website should follow same design and feel and style. If they do it and do it right it will be one huge nice Metro website full of useful information for all products.
