      I’m not seeing it either.  account.microsoft.com is metro, but account.live.com is still the same.  Maybe it’s still rolling out.  I really want the hotmail update to rollout though haha

        yea, it would still be rolling out! Massive web services like Hotmail etc rarely roll out big changes all at once, which is fair enough.

      There haven’t been any rumours or announcements regarding what will happen to Windows Live Essentials on Windows 7 and Windows Vista, but the new Messaging app in Windows 8 is very likely replacing Windows Live Messenger :)

    I feel they should update the Hotmail icon to be more simple, like the new SkyDrive icon and the Microsoft Windows 8 app icons. It’s now inconsistent with the other Microsoft online services in this regard; the whisp around the envelope remains.

    Apparently they got rid of the 16 character limit for the password box, which means I actually have to remember not to type the last part of my password now. Maybe they’ll actually let me use my full password now though!

      Yes we just saw it too. Although it appears on and off at the moment. If I close the page or visit on a different browser, it goes back to the old look.

    This is off topic, but anyone else running into problems with Disqus loading?  I’m using IE10 and have Tracking Protection Lists on, if I have the “Your Personalized List” enabled Disqus does not work, but if I disable it, disqus works.

      I’m seeing this problem with Disqus on some (but not all) sites. I’m using the Desktop version of IE10. I have “Your Personalized List” disabled…

        We’ve noticed some problems with Windows 8 / IE10 and the new “Disqus 2012″, and reverted back to the previous version of Disqus a few weeks ago, which seems to work as expected here.  Are you having problems with LiveSide.net Disqus comments loading, or is this from other sites?

          It’s been happening on other sites too.  So not liveside specific, probably something on disqus’s end.  As you said most likely problems with supporting Win8/IE10

    the account.live.com is available in metro for me too.
    Living in India and running Windows 7 with Firefox
    Hence its not doing any partiality with OS or browser.

    Apparently the Hotmail logo will not be changing much. I dont like the ‘wave’ on it, think just the envelope (or maybe something that remember “hot”) would be better.

    I notice that some of the metro-like sign in pages still use older logos for hotmail (a blue envelope with a postage stamp) and sky drive (a blue hard drive). The Windows Live name is still scattered about too.

    In Spain my Microsoft Account is with new Metro style but only when I sign in. Some options send me to the old design. I hope the full change in Agoust :)

    I DO NOT like that I can not use my longer than 16 characters password. This WILL jeopardize the security!!!! To just drop this on everyone, is not trusting at ALL! We should all get rid of our hotmail accounts. If security was an concern for microsoft, you would have made sure that we could keep the ability for longer passwords–as these are harder to crack! No I can’t get my messages–shame on you! THIS IS NOT WRONG AND CRIMINAL!!!!!!!!

    Dear Microsoft and any other software provider:

    Incremental releases can be done right and they can be done wrong.  This is an example of an incremental release done wrong, as its a UI update delivered inconsistently all Microsoft services.  You shouldn’t flip the power switch on until the light bulb is screwed in securely.
