What with BillG at Mix and the Office DevCon, and the Vista stain on the carpet, somewhat overlooked as announcements go was the first official introduction of Windows Live ID, presented at Mix by Brian Arbogast and Ken Levy. The replacement for Passport, with multiple credentials and tie-ins to InfoCard, was introduced as part of a demo of a Windows Live "mash-up" featuring Live ID and Virtual Earth, Windows Live Search, and Windows Mobile Search. Apparently our Favorite Live ID guy is bucking for a promotion, as Trevin breaks the ice and posts on the beginnings of a developer story around Live ID. We're waiting for more to filter out from Mix, in the meantime here's a slide from the presentation.
