Live Search comes to Facebook with custom search page

Mashable just spotted the new implementation of Live Search integrated into Facebook.  According to Mashable:

The implementation is fairly straightforward: in the search box on the top right of Facebook, which is also used for quick access to your friends’ profiles and intrasite search, there is now an option to “Search the Web,” which in turn triggers a query of Microsoft Live Search. Results then display within a custom interface designed for Facebook.

Expo gets an update, adds Facebook sharing and more international support

The Windows Live Expo team just rolled out an update earlier today.  Here are the details, via the Team Blog:

  • Public availability in the UK and China!  Welcome to social classifieds, guys!
  • Upgrades to the "Communities" feature (formerly known as Email groups)
  • Streamlined account sign-up
  • Upgrade to the newest Virtual Earth map viewer - check out the new 3D maps feature by clicking on the "View map" button!
  • Image enhanced preview, so you can start scoping people's profile photos
  • Sharing on Facebook, so you can share your listings with your Facebook buddies
  • A much needed refresh of the homepage including the slick 'Vapor' theme
  • Tonnes of bugfixes and backend improvements

As some of you may remember, I complained about the lack of Flair/Vapor on the Expo site in my interview with Kurt Weber from the Expo Team.  Thanks for rolling that out guys.  It really makes the service fit in even more with the Windows Live suite.  This is definitely a feature packed release and at least Chris will be happy about the UK release.

I was on the limited UK beta :P

But yeah it'll be nice to have more people on it now. Be interesting to see how it does as I suspect UK and USA will have similar fortunes.

If yes, I go to exclude my profile in orkut today exactly. : D

Penalty that not yet is of this time that I will exclude my profile in orkut.

But still I find that the Microsoft would have to invest in a site of net of relationships style to the Orkut.

Clearly that with improvements type:

- Videos of the Youtube and other sites in the profile of the User and the profile of the communities.

- More photos to place.

- Communities with more than an owner and option to place mediators.

- Integration with all the services of the Windows Live.
