Windows Live Photo Gallery gets new OEM partners, Sync integration, and more

Windows Live Photo Gallery from the Windows Live Essentials suite is getting some upgrades in the upcoming “Release Candidate” release too. Besides the many bug fixes (including the wlcomm.exe crash and 100% CPU usage bug ), we also found out from Brian Hall’s interview that Windows Live Sync (FolderShare) will come installed along with Windows Live Photo Gallery to sync your photo albums across multiple PCs, as long as you sign in with the same Windows Live ID on more than one computer: Perhaps more good news for Microsoft’s Windows Live push is that HP had recently signed up to include Windows

Spaces Gets A Slight Update

image Windows Live Spaces just released is releasing tonight a small update to their popular blogging and social networking service. The update includes the following features:

  • Broader availability – jumping from 34 markets to 42
  • Birthday notifications option on your Live contacts
  • Ability to re-order list modules - Like your favourite books list for example
  • Home Page Upgrades - Upgrades to http://spaces.live.com/
  • New User Space Allocation - Windows Live customers will have a Windows Live Space automatically created for them upon signing up for a Windows Live ID.

So nothing massively new with this update, but always good to see that the team are still working on new things.

Also today, the Expo team made a small announcement on their blog showing the new feature they implemented: anonymous messaging.

Sound's ok. Nothing really much sadly. But if they were to do major upgrades, I would want:

1. Scalable modules

2. Replacing 'categories' on blog posts to 'tags'

3. Windows Live Groups (revamped MSN Groups on Live Spaces)

4. Improvements in photos

5. Expand Profile functionality

6. Friends list improvements

7. Better theme customization

8. Better gadgets on Spaces

I think this is a rolling update...so not everyone is updated yet.  My Space is not updated, while I see some that are.  :)

Regarding birthdays: They're listed at the bottom of the newly redesigned Spaces Home.
