Windows Live Suite announced - Update

The Windows Live Wire blog this morning published an entry from Chris Jones, Vice President, Windows Live Team, announcing the Windows Live suite.

Included in the suite, which will allow for a single installation of any or all of these Windows Live services, are:

  • Windows Live Mail (the desktop client)
  • Windows Live Photo Gallery
  • Windows Live Writer
  • Windows Live OneCare Family Safety
  • Windows Live Messenger (8.5)
  • and more (??)

While the url has not updated for me at the moment, it's expected to be working today according to Jones, rolling out depending on where you live:

http://get.live.com/wl/all

Update: The installer is now live. Go to the above link to get started. Expect more to come on here soon.

I've read on a Dutch website called Webwereld (Webworld in English). Webwereld had interviewed Microsoft Benelux and they've said the Windows Live Suite will be released tonight!!

i very much doubt that the applications will be out of beta, as we would of had a warning or updates on their spaces saying about cming out of beta soon and with windows live photo gallery not even in a public beta yet i am pretty sure that this will just be another milestone on the betas

Yes all the programs will still be in beta and yes there will be some new ones added (and maybe some beta refreshes if we are lucky :P).

As for the new beta programs maybe an offline Windows Live Calendar thing or an updated version of FolderShare, or something completely different?

Freaking god, it's localized for Greek. That's bizzare usually things take 6months to a year to get localized for us.

Photo Gallery sucks. It's not that I don't like it, but it has to have Windows Desktop Search installed, and that REALLY slows down my computer :(.
