Maybe its my british sense of humour (guilty as charged) but I thought they were quite funny. At least its something different from the pompous corporate BS most companies put out.

That's wonderful. I've been waiting for awhile to see real "live" translations, and it's about time. Even though it's not officially Microsoft's, it is something. However, around $5 just to translate 25 words is a bit too much. $1 for 10 or more words would be better (it's not that hard to translate!).

And I was hoping Encarta would expand its dictionary for such a long time. Now it's coming.

I think that since the video footage seems to be actual stock footage from the times they seem to represent, these videos were made to apeal more to certain Microsoft customers, more than for a viral marketing campaign. But yeah, definately not consumer friendly.

You really weren't kidding! In the first video, their lips aren't even moving as you hear their (awful) voices!

The 2nd video makes the xRank team look like their baldies without a brain.

And the other videos I skimmed are all corny, badly edited with fake voices, and make me NOT want to use Live Search. Yet none of these ads SHOW what Live Search can do. As far as I know, Google, Yahoo!, whatever can do the same things they SAY in the video. If Microsoft wants Live Search as a great old-fashioned way of doing web search, with users who are out of this century, then great for them.

Microsoft just needs to hire a top-notch advertising agency that effectively markets Live Search, without making it oh-so easy to laugh AT Microsoft. Oh, and Multimap just sucks.

I think these adverts are actually making me want to STOP using Live Search...

They're certainly not enticing me to use it more!! :P
