After lots of fanfare, but with no real direction, Windows Live first appeared in early 2006, with lots of new apps, lots of rebranding (and re-rebranding), and lots of queries from the press and from customers

re: Windows Live 2009: Our interview with Ryan Gavin, Sr. Director, Windows Live

Calendar is great, but they have got to get the Windows Live Mobile package to add it to their Live Mail sync options.

The site www.windowslive.com/.../Hotmail has been advertising Messenger for Live Mail for a few months now. Also, the Windows Live Essentials suite is going to replace Windows Mail, Photogallery, etc., so hopefully there won't be any confusion.

Regarding the Dell/Windows Live deal. I hope Dell has sought and received permission to remove Windows Mail, Photo Gallery etc from their standard configured PC they ship with Live Essentials. That will avoid alot of confusion and prep consumers.
