ComScore: Windows Live gets a search share bump

Today, ComScore released their new set of search engine share stats for May through June and things are looking good for Live Search.

This reported 2.9% bump in Microsoft's search share serves as more support to the Compete.com data that we reported on last week.  As expected, ComScore is also crediting Microsoft's Live Search Club as the reason for the bump in their share.  ComScore remarks,

"Microsoft Sites experienced a significant increase in search query volume (up 36 percent) and search market share (up 2.9 share points) in June, due in large part to Live Search Club, a program launched by Microsoft in late May to engage and reward users of Live Search."

As seen above, Microsoft collected their increased search share from a combination of losses from Google, Yahoo, and Time Warner.  Obviously Microsoft still has a long way to go in order to compete with Google, or even Yahoo, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.

Wow, it's not amazing that Live Search increased, but that it was the only one to increase.

Usually, Google Search at least gets some increase. Like there's more internet users everyday, and the first search engine that pops in mind would be Google's. So it's really amazing that Live Search is increasing, while the other guys are not.

Live Search Club must really be something to get these people.
