Ramping up for Windows Live Events (and maybe Groups too?)

Remember the Wave 2 launch dates given last month by Microsoft France? It seems that Windows Live Events could be just around the corner after a link to the service  was spotted in a Live Search cached page. What makes this all the more interesting is the cached version of Spaces was running on build 1347, the current build running on spaces.live.com is only 1345.

Our friends over at Wagged have also been a little jumpy recently, conducting searches for Windows Live Events to see what information is already out. It seems like they are definitely ramping up for something over in Redmond.

And while we're on the topic of Spaces, there's also been some chatter on an MSN Groups upgrade to Windows Live Groups. The Wikipedia entry on it is well worth reading, thanks again to Live Search doing a great job in caching the non-public facing Groups homepage. Rock on the Live Search team.

The wiki page on Live Groups says: Windows Live Groups - currently redirects to Windows Live Spaces.

Well so does: home.services.spaces.live.com/banana

So that really doesn't mean anything :P

Yep. I was expecting that. MSN Groups to be revamped to Windows Live Groups, and be integrated into Live Spaces.

It was so obvious. I blogged that months ago.

I was also expecting MSN Chat to be pulled back out of the dead, revamped, and pulled out to a Windows Live version. Maybe this will come true too.

Wasn't MSN Chat closed because of safety issues with minors, or was that just in the UK?

@phunky: Not if home.services.live-int.com/groups actually gets you to Windows Live Groups (at least internally in Microsoft), as seen through the Live Search cached page link provided. It is almost certain that when the update is being rolled out, Windows Live Groups will be located at:

home.services.spaces.live.com/groups

Similarly, if you go to http://events.live.com now, it actually redirects you to:

home.services.spaces.live.com/events

Which currently redirects you again to the usual Spaces homepage. But we know that when the update is rolled out, that page will actually contain something different.

Two more Live Search cached pages on Windows Live Events:

cc.msnscache.com/cache.aspx
