Pocket-lint has learnt from sources close to the matter that Microsoft will announce the much-rumoured refresh to its mobile phone operating system, Windows Mobile, on April 1st 2008.

Windows Mobile adds features to your mobile that have previously only been available on a PC. Think about Windows Office Mobile, Windows Media Player Mobile, Live Search for Windows Mobile and of course Windows Live for Mobile!

Improvements over the February 2007 release will be a new look, home screen and fonts, and new features such as a task manager. I can't help but wonder about the date, could this be an April Fools joke? Stay tuned!
