Live Search changes: QnA joins in

Update: Looks like qna.live.com is joining the party, with a new look, too, this one in keeping with the green and blue theme (thanks, AndyD):

qnalive

We’re noticing some other changes, as well, although they seem to come and go.  See anything new?  Let us know in the comments.

It's about time this happened.

well it appears they are still interested in qna

and there is also more visual integration with live search

i wonder why the orb doesn't actually work(in live search too), that was one of the things i really liked about windows live

Live QnA was moved from being a Windows Live Service to a Live Search service.

With the latest update (I presume it's codenamed Rome), Microsoft seems to be trying to finally distinguish the two brands separately. This can be seen where all regular Windows Live services have the expandable orb menu, and Live Search services have the plain header like the screenshot in QnA above.

I actually think this is a good thing as they're finally attempting to fix up the branding mess and giving each of the two brands their own identity. It's just that not all services are updated at the same time, so some are still left with old themes and some with the new ones.

The new update does "look" neater and cooler, but I miss a few things.

I kinda miss the the box on the front page to preview new content buried on other pages.

And they didn't really add much new functionality. You still can't favorite any questions, nor add friends, and other things we still want. Just a new look is the main thing. Maybe soon.
