Hotmail Wave 3 includes Web Messenger for some lucky readers

Well we’re still waiting for the new Hotmail, but we really appreciate the tips and feedback we’ve been getting, and the comments.  Special thanks this time to one anonymous reader, who not only has the new Hotmail, but also a working Web Messenger implementation built into it.  This feature is expected to be added in over the next months, so it’s good to see it appear so soon (even before we get Hotmail itself, hey!)

He kindly sent along some screenshots, which I put in a Spaces Photo Album:

Windows Live Spaces

From the looks of things, Web Messenger is tightly integrated with Hotmail, or will be. Now we really want the new version!

Didn't Wave 3 limit the amount of messenger statuses to Available, Busy, Away and Offline?

I don't want to break the spirit, and I really hope I'm wrong, but could this be fake?

Hope I'm wrong.

Peace,

Stijn

Yes, I too was surprised to see more than Available, Busy, Away, and Offline.  I guess it could be fake....

Remember its all beta, so things might not be consistent until final launch :)

Huh.  Yeah.  And most of us don't even have Hotmail Wave 3 yet.

*sigh*

I just made a test account, which happened to get bay 107, and it isn't on wave 3 as the screenshots suggest...

Although my test account is at by107w.bay107.mail.live.com/.../mail.aspx and the one in the screenshot appears to be by107df-w.bay107.mail.live.com/.../mail.aspx

One of my account located at  bay 117 is showing this:

"Windows Live Hotmail wasn't able to complete this request because your account is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

Hope I get something =)

@orion-ll: the url for the account about is on the dogfood servers, hence the "df". Regular accounts moving to Wave 3 won't be on the df servers, but will still get Wave 3.

@BV2312: That'd be nice, if it was for Live Mesh and SkyDrive too...
