Live Mesh: Required Update To Live Mesh Coming Next Week

Attention, attention all Live Mesh Tech Preview users!

Next week Live Mesh will release a required update! Meaning if you wish to continue using the product you have to update, else no synchronization or Remote Desktop!

Why a required update? The software and services are going to get upgraded to support an open beta so all users need to get onto the new systems quickly.

This will be the most significant update since Live Mesh started out as a technology preview back in April. There will be lots of fixes and new features. Which? We don’t know yet, but stay tuned, more news will be coming from PDC over the next week. We’ll keep you posted!

In the meantime take a look at this Live Mesh Promo video:

I've been noticing quite a few updates in the past week.  Is it just me, or is something going screwy with my Mesh?

I love the promo video, I still remember it back from April.

If you look at 1:11, that has got to be a sneak peak at WinMo 7. I remember a site that posted up supposed screenshots of the next version of Windows Mobile 7, and I remember the prominent Windows logo button shown, and the bluish UI, and all that. Too bad it doesn't look as if they're going to get ride of the awful 2-paned menu system. microsoft.blognewschannel.com/.../exclusive-windows-mobile-7-to-focus-on-touch-and-motion-gestures

0:40 must be Windows Live FrameIt.

Live Mesh is really going to connect a lot of Microsoft products!

The guy on the Mac who then turns to the Zune is neat... maybe the Mac is getting Zune support soon?

This is how I see things:

Windows Smartphone with WinMob7 = Live Mesh

Ford Sync + GPS/ 3G = Live Mesh

Zune + Wifi Syncing = Live Mesh

MAC. All I have to say.

XBOX 360 + Sync Framework = Live Mesh

Photo Frame + FrameIt = Live Mesh

And have we all forgotten about Vista's Sync Center? I'd love to see some integration there.
