Windows Live Admin Center updated with new Wave 3 look

Windows Live Admin Center just got the new look today - with the new Wave 3 header and themes. However, in terms of functionality, there're no apparent changes since its last update. Here's a screenshot:

We're awaiting on the official blog to have an update about this. Thanks to Picturepan2 at LiveSino for the tip!

Good to see!

Hopefully SkyDrive will be updated soon (with the ability to upload folders as well as files) - one can only hope :D

Does anybody know if that is a feature planned for SkyDrive soon?

Also, I hope to see Spaces & everything else updated very shortly then now.

TO ADD TO MY LAST COMMENT:

OMG what is it witht he Windows Live teams & their lack of keeping things consistent. Look at the search bar of the new Windows Live Admin Center compared to the search bar in the new Hotmail or Calendar... it is RIDICULOUS that the Windows Live teams cannot pick out these inconsistencies - the search bar in Admin Center sticks out like a sore thumb, it's much better in Hotmail.

Why can't they keep them consistent? I thought this new Wave 3 header was going to be uniform across all the services?

This is ridiculous! I pick up on these inconsistencies straight away... why can't they?

@cJr: Actually, the search bar you see in Windows Live Admin Center is the one they're moving towards, apparently it is the "newer" Wave 3 header.

Oh dear! Well thank you for the info, damaster. That's awful news!

The search bar looks amazing in Hotmail - it really goes with the layout of the header.

The search bar in the new Admin Center really looks out of place & if they do have to go with that they should at least move up the text "Search the web" so it is in the middle of the text box...oh dear. After seeing Calendar (beta) & Hotmail I thought they finally had a decent design manager who notices inconsistencies & awful design elements. Obviously I was wrong...

@cJr: maybe the purpose *is* to make you notice the search bar, hence making it stand out instead of blending in. =P After all they do want you to use Live Search ;)

As for inconsistency - I think they'll gradually move towards the same design, noting that the current semi-"Wave 3" headers seen in Hotmail/Calendar/Admin Center still has the old text "Home Hotmail Space OneCare" instead of the new "Home Profile People...etc". So expect them to be updated once everything is rolled out - and be all consistent at the end.

@damaster: I also reckon that they will end up making it consistent, now you've told me that this is the new search bar, so the inconsistency thing doesn't bother me as much anymore. I also thought that maybe they'd want the user to notice the search bar. I just think it looks horrible compared to the current search bar in Hotmail :/ I love the way it blends in & it is still noticeable.

I took the liberty to edit some of the comments here and removed further flame postings. Freedom of speech is one thing but using insults is another.

Please keep it friendly here.

Thank you, Sunshine. Luckily I noticed the last 3 comments by that other person, before they were deleted. I never like to get into flame wars with anybody.

I was just wondering if you could inform me, please. What insult did I use in my second comment? I really don't remember. I'm suprised I would use an insult, but obviously you must be right.

cJr: I dislike having to edit comments or delete, but in this case I saw it really went in the wrong direction. We are pretty liberal here in what can and can't be said but yea..I just felt it needed to be done to prevent worse.

The word I took out  was on the dots "& their ....... lack of keeping ".  As you can see without it, the comment is just as strong ;)

I see Sunshine. I shouldn't have put that in there, you are right. I am just frustrated with the Windows Live team after they had an amazing idea with the first search bar on the wave 3 design :P

(You may want to edit my 3rd post, under damaster's. & again, I do apologise :)

Sunshine edit: done ;)

& yes I agree, with the other user's insulting comments, it really was going in the wrong direction.

Thank you Sunshine.

cJr: Done, thanks for pointing that one out ;) We all get frustrated at times, but when writing something publicly one has to think/read back (count to ten?) before pushing that button. Apology accepted :)

http://my.live.com is down... so maybe we'll see soon how they implement THEIR search box... :)

it's back up again now tophtucker & unfortunately it hasn't been updated :(

I don't want this to be updated though, now the new home.live.com will be allowing you to have feeds, my.live.com seems redundant, it should be replaced with Windows Live Home.
