I just tried it and I am able to get access to Hotmail using POP3 on my Motorola Razr phone...

POP3 Access for Hotmail here/coming soon?

A Dutch website, www.iphoneclub.nl, is reporting that at least some users are able to access Hotmail on their iPhones using POP3, which has been promised for Hotmail for free but up until now has only been available with a Hotmail Plus account.

Another iPhone news site, iPhonetunes, has an English translation of the Dutch post.

A quick test here didn’t get it working with a mail client (no iPhone to try), and we suspect this may be a trial in the Dutch market before deploying more widely, but for those of you who want/need Hotmail POP3 access for your iPhone etc, it may be coming sooner rather than later.

it actually works! i get a warning abouthotmail plus, then after go to my inbox, and  my messages start appearing!! its working i think.

forget the i think bit, sent an email to another of my email adresses that i also have on my ipod touch and it sucessfully sent, and i sucessfully recieved it. I am in the UK. and i have a hotmail.com address

POP3 is obsolete. Please implement IMAP.

I just tried it and I am able to get access to Hotmail using POP3 on my Motorola Razr phone in Australia using a live.com.au address. Looks like it's not just iphone users that can access it.
