The Zune HD is real!

A few hours ago engadget leaked screenshots from a video for the Zune HD. Microsoft's  4th generation of its vastly under loved Zune media player. I can confirm that those are in fact real screenshots of the “Zune HD” (not sure if that is the final name or not).

If you remember from my previous post, the new Zune hardware is just the tip of the iceberg. The Zune team is hard at work getting ready to turn the Zune platform into something amazing. As soon as I can share more details, trust me I will. For now I’ll leave you with the photo leaked by engadget. Is that one sexy Zune or what?

If this is true, and if most of th rumors are true, this will be BIG,  the iPod touch was the only device I came very close to getting.  But have not in hopes of the Zune blowing it out of the water.  :)

very promising..i can't wait to check out new control pad.  this might not be the touch enabled Zune.  although, I like the idea of switching between pure touch and d-pad operations.

Wow! when i saw this on engadget, i thought it was just a rumor. Now, i'm excited.

So, this is completly touch screen.. no squircle? But then why is the front of the device not completly "screen"? what is the reason for thecoverng at the bottom and something that looks like a button?

There's a twitter account: http://www.twitter.com/ZuneHD

@Contz, that account is not affiliated with the Zune team or Microsoft. Yet another fake.

So I just noticed how the bottom-left image has the shadow motion image effect...suggesting that maybe it will have an accelerometer? Why else would it emphasize the motion action?

Amazing! I can only dream of these 3 (unknown) specs:

1. It is a phone too

2. HDMI in/out (that Tegra video blew my mind)

Imagine taking photos/video and uploading/recording them to your Zune.

3. Use Zune as hard drive
