Zune ad hits at pocketbook

A new Zune ad campaign featuring financial planner Wes Moss attempts to hit iTunes users right where it hurts: in the pocketbook.  The ad, appearing on the Zunepass.net website, calculates the costs for filling an iPod from iTunes versus using the Zune Pass:

Wes Moss is also featured on the Zune website homepage, as Zune begins a new push, expected to include a Zune HD, wider distribution, and inclusion in Windows Mobile.

(I am a Zune user)  Obviously this $30k figure (for 120GB) assumes someone filling it up with music purchased from music store.  I would say anyone with more than 20GB is likely a heavy podcast user and perhaps someone who downloads tv episodes. But the point is still correct, subscription provides better value.  If I was to improve the video, I would also make it clear that in addition to unlimited music, you can to mark 10 tracks per month to keep in your permanent collection.

This is the reason I wont buy music. I have an iPod so I am not going to use the Zune store and iTunes and just about every other service costs too much when you download a lot of songs. Its the same as charging for internet by the minute, its insane.
