New Laptop Hunters ad (I think we get the point)

Another Laptop Hunters ad is out (this time they buy a Dell), and the ad sticks true to form – Go to Best Buy, thumb your nose at the Mac, walk away happy.  These ads were good right out of the gate, but, truthfully, aren’t they beginning to wear a little thin?

Now that Apple has started to hit back…

…we’re going to have to start seeing a little more out of our Laptop Hunter friends.  Let the commercial wars begin!

(as usual, thanks to Imran at Ithinkdifferent for spotting the ad)

They aren't wearing thin, this commercial just sucks. The details don't add up, and the motion seems staged.

Seriously, they should start getting people from the community. I'll do it for the cost of the budget they want to give me. :P

To most people (those who aren't actively on the lookout for the latest Laptop Hunters ad and don't know that this is a second Lauren) the message is probably barely catching on: I save money by sticking to PC. Premium product/brand can't be much of an effective selling point during these times and Microsoft is loudly touting that. Also, with Apple's recent marketing push, cost was completely ignored and they're not (yet) ready to fight-and-win with that marker (instead the usual virus and performance angle, which I personally think is much more worn out). It also seems like Microsoft is only trying to communicate with all of its expansive demographic bases, and maybe the set of ads are explicitly shown on specific networks and times. But I do agree that one or two more and the Windows marketing needs to be completely revamped and strenghtened now that Apple is prepared to rebut.
