The Office Live Workspace team blog just announced two exciting news for Mac users using Microsoft Office and Office Live Workspace. Firstly, Microsoft Document Connection for Mac was just released as part of Office 2008 for Mac SP2 to access Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents directly from Office Live Workspace. Here’s an official list of features for Document Collaboration Companion:

• Integrated (offline/local) access to Office Live Workspace and SharePoint Websites
• Document upload
• Document check-out/in
• SharePoint Workspace and Doc Library access & browsing
• An independent application with File Menu integration

Secondly, Office Live Workspace now supports both Safari 3 and the newly released Safari 4, adding support for users with Mac OS X 10.2.x and later. Could this be some sort of preparation for the upcoming release of Office Web Apps, which will support Internet Explorer 7/8, Firefox 3, and also Safari?
