When Bing first launched, this Q&A post over at the Bing & adCenter Community told us the following:

Q: What will happen to Live.com?
A: The Live.com URL will redirect to Bing.com for 45 days after launch. After this period it becomes the front door for all Live services including Office Live and Windows Live.

It’s now way past 45 days since Bing first launched in June, and this is the first sign indicating that Live.com will no longer redirect to Bing. After all, Microsoft should make good use of the easy-to-remember domain name for their “Live” offerings (did we mention Start.com too?). The question is, what will take the place for Live.com? Possible candidates are:

Windows Live Home (currently at http://home.live.com)

The good old Windows Live Personalized Experience (currently at http://my.live.com)

The current marketing website for Windows Live (currently at http://www.windowslive.com/Explore)

A brand new homepage linking to both Windows Live and Office Live?

Which one do you think will take the place of Live.com? And most important of all, what would you want to be placed there?

My.Live.com – add your favorite Technology blog

Sunshine posted today on the improvements to My.Live.com, and we’d say they’ve done an excellent job!

We highly recommend that you set up a My.Live.com page, and add your favorite (ahem) technology blog, and other blogs to your content. It really is an easy way to get the latest news all on one page (or more, if you want).

Thanks, My.Live.com team. We’re not sure what new project you’re working on, but from the looks of today’s improvements, we’re going to like it just fine!

(note: if we were on this list before today, sorry for not noticing. But hey, we're on now, which is just fine with us)

Important Update To My.Live.Com

My.Live.com just got an important update:

New Header, with links to Home, Hotmail, Spaces, Onecare and MSN. The Orb gives access to even more, just like on all other Windows Live sites

Usability Improvements
A confirmation prompt to prevent accidental deletions of gadgets and feeds has been added, "Add Stuff" has been renamed to "Add Content" and the visibility of this link has been improved, "Edit" has been changed to "Customize" in the gadget chrome and there’s more space between the Customize link and the delete gadget "X" icon.

IE 8.0 and FireFox 3.0 Support
My.Live.com now supports the Beta for IE 8.0 and the final version of FF 3.0.

Add Content Directory Updates
Check out the Add Content directory for new feeds and gadgets. New items include the full line-up of content from Xbox.com, selections from Office Online, MSN Video, WeatherBug, and more!

Besides these there are bug and glitch fixes. The My.Live.com Team also created a My.Live.com Suggestions and Feedback forum on Microsoft.com Forums. A minor update is expected in the Fall and they are working on another project on which they will tell more in the coming months.

We’ll be on the look-out!

New Feedback Forum For My.Live.Com

my.live.com has been up and running (having moved from live.com) now since May after it first got announced in April. Just last week, the title of the page switched to "Windows Live Personalized Experience", suggesting that it may very well be seeing some actual feature updates soon.

Now with home.live.com, my.live.com and live.com, its now slightly easier for end-users to know exactly what page they should be using for different purposes. Add My MSN into the mix though (there's an update on the way for that too), and it seems like we have too many pages trying to achieve the same aim. Full email is after the jump.

Dear Windows Live user,

Starting in mid April, we have a new URL for your Live.com Personalized Page! You can now access your personalized page by signing in with your Windows Live ID directly at http://my.live.com.

Visit http://my.live.com today to view your personalized page and make our new URL your Homepage, or add it to your Favorites.

You can continue to use Live Search from within your personalized page, or you can search directly from www.live.com.

While you are on your personalized page, please visit the new Directory under the Add Stuff link.

Thanks,
The Windows Live Team
