@quikboy: I agree. I usually just say "Messenger" or "Photo Gallery" when the person I'm talking to knows we're talking about Windows Live already. People drop the word "Windows" too when they talk about "Vista".

I usually drop the word 'Windows' when I talk about any of the services or apps., because it's just long to say it all. I wonder why the heck the person who thought up the brand name, didn't consider the ergonomics of the word. People still cal Messenger as MSN.

They should just create a whole new brand name, new look and everything, and migrate people over to it. Starting fresh, is better than continuing with an unsuccessful brand name.

Shame they still can't figure out that the brand is the main problem with their search share. Until they get it and find something that rolls off the tongue they will continue to follow.

windows - OS : sounds good.

windows live - mail , photo gallery ..etc products on windows with live option : sounds ok.

windows live search : it just doesnt sound good. i just hate the idea.

Live Search : is just good enough. or totally it can have many different UI interfaces .... with different names/avatars. pl.dont attach windows to the search .there is no WoW factor in it.

To be honest, they need to choose a brand and stick to it, regardless of what it is.

If I was managing it I'd drop Windows from everything (maybe). But seriously they need to build brand equity and these constant name changes are doing nothing for that.

Thanks for the article. I just checked my other account & I have an email like this, but it's different (green at the top instead of blue & different content) but it still says "Try Windows Live Search". Very interesting! I hope the name change & UI from a few weeks ago is going to be incorporated soon then & this isn't just some typo!
