Is the preparation for Wave 3 (which sounds promising) the reason why all the live spaces personal accounts I can track down (my own included) seem to be down this evening at least?

What's going on?

I'm very glad though they have taken to removing the banner ad at the top of every page.. I'd signed up to the premium hotmail service to do this, to discover it only removed the ads for me, not everyone visiting my spaces account!

Wow...looks very promising. Kind of excited. My biggest hope is that they've removed the script that tries to load up Messenger (it it's not running). It kinda drags Spaces.

Nice to know they're doing something about the awful banner ad that adorned the top of every Space (and previously Hotmail). I mean they could have just pushed it over to the right (and made it collapsible like Yahoo! Mail), or do text ads, but getting rid of it altogether is cool too. I just wonder how they expect to monetize Spaces though, consider the number of posts that get put up around the world.

Spaces right now is just good enough for a general blogger, but it still needs more to take over Google's Blogger. Fixes like making it easier to see (and delete/reply!) comments on posts, better URL organization, Javascript support, more cooler modules to add on, better spam control (limit amount of hyperlinks?), block users (or spammers), easy way to search within a person's space to find content, search for the latest posts from other Spaces, etc.
