I have to admit, I was just as surprised as anyone to see Microsoft's official announcement - not to mention the fact that there are already a handful of Zune HDs out in the wild.

@Mephiles - E3 itself starts 6/2. (6/1 is Microsoft's E3 Press Briefing).

@quikboy - I think it will ultimately depend on how serious Microsoft is about the gaming possibilities of the Zune HD. If the rumored XBLA support and NVIDIA Tegra GPU are real, then I suspect it will at least get a passing nod. If not, there may be an entirely separate, Zune centric launch event in the not too distant future...

I can''t wait for E3 this year. It's certainly going to be exciting. It starts on the 1st of June, right, or is that just a pre-E3 press event?

A teaser trailer for Gears 3 isn't out of the question - paving the way for a full length trailer at GDC next year, and a playable demo at E3 2010.

As for VP3? Rare needs a AAA title to show off at E3, and VP is quickly becoming one of their core ips. Much as I would like to add fuel to the KI3 is in development/will be announced at E3 fire, I don't see it happening.

You may be right about Forza 3, though - as rumors are circulating that it is nearly finished and may be released in time for the holidays this year.

Wow, you can tell this place isn't a gaming blog. A few things:

Gears 3 and Viva Pinata 3? Announced within 6 months of GoW2 and VP2's release? el-oh-el

And while PGR5 isn't out of the question, Turn 10 is practically confirmed to be showing off Forza 3, which makes a PGR5 reveal doubtful this year.
