One welcome change is the return of the "New" option, which enables you to begin a new email from anywhere within the program, instead of being forced to first return to "Mail", as was the case with M9.

Change to 4gb will likely lure a lot of GMail and YahooMail users.

I've had numerous colleagues switch once they realized it's light-years ahead of the Hotmail they remember -- and that was on M8 and M9!

I agree, I don't like the new placement of the Today/Mail/Contacts/Calendar navigation. That was better in M9. And isn't it about time that Calendar get upgraded?

The Microsoft must not have changed the name of the Windows Live Mail for Windows Live Hotmail. If I have an email of the Hotmail or of the MSN, the change of the name would be correct. But if I have the email of Live.com, must have continued as Windows Live Mail. The problem is that the Microsoft did not make the change of the site of entrance for the Windows Live Mail and one I specify for who uses the email of the Hotmail \ MSN. Perhaps either therefore that some, had not obtained to see that they were two services with different names. Guilt of the Microsoft for the confusion in the head of some users.

Initial load time went from 8-12 seconds to 2-5 seconds. It's now around as fast as Gmail.

On the other hand, I vastly preferred the way you switched between Inbox, Today and Contacts in M9. M10 is ugly, and less intuitive (even if clearer).

(Never even heard the term until this article.) But I still have to STRENUOUSLY protest that this rebranding is unnecessary and even counterproductive.

Then again, and by way of explanation, I'm a writer by profession. Writing, whether fiction or non-fiction, novels to advertising copy *to branding*, has one virtue above all others: brevity.

Windows Live Mail = more virtuous than Windows Live Hotmail. Then again, Hotmail = more virtuous than Windows Live Mail. What we have here is either a case of 3 unnecessary letters or 11 unnecessary letters, and for Microsoft to transition into a new era online, the Windows Live ought to stay. Ditch the "Hot" from Windows Live Mail. Hotmail was great; it's time to MOVE FORWARD.
