You don't need to know Chinese to create an avatar :D it is easy. but when i browsed my picture it gave me a black color :/ hehe&lt;/p&gt;

Both Harrison and I managed to get a cartoon picture using the chinese site though. You need to install the application first, then return back to the website to do the customisations.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Yes you can use it as a Messenger display picture. Download the larger image it produces, crop it to 180x180 pixels and then set it as your display picture. No resizing distortion then and you get the full picture.&lt;/p&gt;
