I agree, it's just a nightmare to deal with. How have you been complaining? Perhaps we need to ascertain the contact information for the "executive customer relations" team at MSN. It's been two years without updates, it's almost as if the product has been abandoned.

Are you serious? Give me a break.

@quikboy: A little too quick there. Don't you think I know I can cancel the service at my will? I don't need to be reminded of this common knowledge. I choose not to cancel for many reasons, of which I am not going into. However the services should be streamlined I agree and it was always the case for decades. It's only been segmented recently, we always got Hotmail Plus enhancements and our accounts share the same features. The problem is that the reps are ousourced to Canada and have no clue about anything. MSN Premium should have an official Live Space for customers to communicate. Everyone at MS/Windows Live is so elusive about MSN Premium users and any updates. None want to/have the information to give out. It's the run around.

Don't subscribe to the anymore.

You're right, MSN Premium should cover Hotmail Plus. I'm quite surprised they don't offer that. I'm not familiar with either, but that doesn't seem right.

If there's enough users unsubscribing, maybe it will make a difference. Or you could give feedback to them, by finding some link there, or calling a representative.

It doesn't sound cool at all.

I'm slow this morning.]

Windows Live Mail (beta) is what you should use to have desktop access to hotmail (or MSN Premium mail) until the return us to the glory days of secure POP3/SMTP. It might seem kinda ugly compared to even Outlook Express, but I figure that will improve.

I have been on MSN in one form or another since it was available with Windows 95. I loved having POP3/SMTP access and I stopped using the account for outgoing e-mail (1) because spammers seemed to have gotten their hands on the complete membership list and (2) pop3 was removed and the various "connector" arrangements were too sucky. I've kept the account all of this time because people still find me with it and it was the first public e-mail with my orcmid handle (so also how I'm reached on Windows Live Messenger and all of the places where I can use Windows Live ID).

The connectors to Outlook and Windows Live Mail work reasonably well at the moment (although the current connector cratered my Outlook accounts and that cost me some pain and it is still not great). My still having an msn.com so I could let clients know that I was not accessing my main e-mail accounts was valuable for that day of interruption.

Windows Live Mail works even with the Qwest rebranded MSN Premium and hotmail (q.com addresses) that my sister has on her shiny new Vista Home Premium system. (I'm really jealous.)

It is a very interesting comment on the thought that the web and Imap are taking over to see POP3 return. I welcome it.

If they offered the same subscription to MSN Premium subscribers, many people would not change.

Why are we repeatedly exempted from new features and enhancements? I'm still at just 2GB and I am a paying customer. MSN Premium and Hotmail Plus should be equals, but paying $9.95 per month is surely more than $19.95 per year. Where is the love MSN/Windows Live? Very annoyed.
