WorldWide Telescope if not released on Feb. 27 , will be released in future as Bill Gates is mentioning role of Software in Astronomy . And he mentioned it twice recently.

Once in Interview with max on channel8 on release of DreamSpark and yesterday in his Speech at Stanford.

Google Sky is really crappy. I find it slow and boring.

If you want to give something such a try now, get Stellarium. It's much better to use, better graphics, and it's free. It's also not notorious Googleware!

i have a goo-ple (Google + Apple) fanboy friend who has been nagging me about how GEarth is better b/c it does the sky too.

I'm betting WL Sky (sky.live.com?) does the job better.

Yea tophtucker, I'd like it to be a combination Earth/Sky client too (nothing indicating, yet, that it will be). I'll be on the lookout for the announcement that's for sure ;)

Interesting. I've never used Google Sky, so I don't really know what it does well and what it does poorly. But it's always nice to see the ever-amazing Virtual Earth get some upgrades.

Of course, if this is going to be a downloadable Virtual Earth/Sky client, then we may have more to look forward to than just Sky...
