I definitely want to see Windows Live Calendar (and local desktop calendar) integration with Windows Live Mail...

But I really hope to see "instant searching" in Windows Live Mail client, similar to what Outlook 2007 has.

And I hope they release POP3 access to Windows Live Hotmail (because I'd like to access my Windows Live mail from my iPhone... yes, I have an iPhone instead of a windows mobile... and yes, I'd like to see much better integration, including with calendar and contacts eventually).

I also want to see a way of migrating from one Windows Live ID to another. I had an old "passport" account (using my ISP email address as the ID), and I can't add Windows Live Hotmail to it, because it uses the email as the id... so I have to switch to my new Windows Live ID login to see web mail at live.com, but then switch back to see anything else on any of my other accounts. Either I'd like to associate the Windows Live Hotmail address to my existing ID transparently (so I don't have to swtich), or I'd like to migrate everything I have associated with my old Windows Live ID to my new Windows Live ID. This is especially true of 'spaces', where I have a custom URL on my old account, that I'd rather use on my new account... but there's no way to delete or transfer or rename or anything. Very annoying and limiting.

Calendar integration in WLMail is the best news. Hope they do the calendar well (it is really a desktop app) and a superset of Windows Calendar. And the ability to start Live Contacts as a standalone app would also be nice.

Yeah, sounds really good. BUT I still don't see how they can reduce the branding issues if windows live isn't on its own domain? Nobody's going to be able to remember all these URLs apart from us lot maybe home.live.com - hardly as catchy as Facebook.com and, by the looks of the new header, that's the market their going for.

I still reckon dropping the "windows" and just having 'Live' is a bit cooler, and shift Live Search elsewhere (with its own branding)... Hopefully, yesterday's executive shuffle might be a good move to resolve all this.

Anyway, it does sound like there's some great stuff in Wave 3. I'm still hoping for a photosynth tool eventually (take lots of photos of a location, and let it stitch) but photo recgnition sounds cool too.

one thing i hope they do it right with the "integration" talk is that when tagging people's faces in Photo Gallery, it actually links to their profile under Windows Live Contacts/People...
