An embarrassingly bad PR hack job, at that. An invite only event called Searchification is taking place at the Microsoft Silicon Valley Campus on September 26th, to talk about

Hotmail now has an improved interface but it's still sluggish - where is my Web2.0 AJAX? Huh?

The calendar application is especially poor when compared to Google Calendar and others.

The Live services need streamlining - fast load times, fast click-response, uncluttered pages and a *real* emphasis on catering to users needs.

Is it just me or do half of the services feel like after thoughts rather than core products? They definitely suffer for it..

That being said, the potential is huge - I would love to be able to tie my Calendar, ToDo list, Mail and Contacts all together by using all the Live products. Microsoft also have the market penetration/coverage to ensure that if a really good product is made, it will get taken up.

Oh and re: Silverlight Alex, what is it you don't think makes sense?

From what I've seen, MS have really got that one sorted; developer tools, deals with business, right from release they were ready to support it.

It’s not so much that Mr. Markoff has the exclusive on announcing that this week Microsoft will ship the rather mundane unified installer for a selection

And I personally don't think software like the Photo Gallery will help. Yeah, Silverlight is cool, but it doesn't make sense.

Posting screenshots on Spaces has been horrible the last couple of years, look at a random MessengerSays-item, the screenshots are vague and blurry. Every blogging tool can do something as easy as resizing a picture right, so why can't Spaces?

The recent rebranding (with the dreaded "Common Header" as Microsoft likes to call it according to MSN Netherlands' LiveLog) doesn't provide clarity either. Flair was fine, by rebranding (even just a bit) it gets more vague and vague...

Fake Steve Jobs is awesome. He has written so many things that made me say "I should have said that, I'd be hilarious!"

I expected to lose interest after he was outed, but the quality of his satirical writing has remained high enough that I just don't care that he's "real." I use the word "freetard" at least once a day, in his honor.
